  • Cycling and inline circuit

    This circuit around the Sľňava reservoir is a popular asphalt track suitable for both cycling and inline skating. Fourteen kilometres in length, it can be completed without stopping in 40 minutes. But if you feel like it, you can of course enjoy a break at a number of pleasant refreshments facilities on the path (Siesta, Dino, Lodenica).     Water skiing

    Have you tried water skiing? It’s a great sport and lots of fun. Less than 10 minutes by foot from Vlnka you will find a water skiing centre with a tow rope at Ratnovská zátoka. And if you need trunks or a towel, we can lend them to you. For more information go to this page.

  • Day trips

    Piešťany lies on the floodplain of the river Váh in the Dolné Považie region, bordered by the Považský Inovec, White Carpathian and Small Carpathian mountain ranges. There are numerous sights in the area worth taking a trip to, including the Červený Kameň, Beckov, Čachtice, Trenčín and Tematín castles, the Smolenický zámok chateau, the Kostelec nad obcou Ducové ancient Slavic fortress, and the Driny and Čertova Pec (Devil’s Furnace) caves.

    Did you know the oldest golf course in Slovakia, founded in 1914, is in Piešťany? The Golf&Country Club Piešťany is located on the island Kúpeľný ostrov, just five minutes by car from Vlnka. More info here.

    Did you know that a new centre court in Piešťany was officially opened in 1932 by Davis Cup founder Dwight Davis? The clay courts located very near Vlnka may not have such an illustrious history, but as soon as you put on your whites and pick up a racket you’ll feel like you’re at Wimbledon.

    For wine buffs

    Just 11 km away, separated from us by Havran hill, is the village of Radošina. Besides its naive theatre, it is famous for having one of Slovakia’s oldest vineyards. The wine Radošina Klevener was even imbibed by England’s Queen Elizabeth II during her coronation. Enjoy a tasting at Pivnica Radošina. The Golguz Vineyard, which is also worth visiting, is in Hlohovec, just 19 km from Vlnka.     Culture and festivals

    A number of interesting music and film events are held every year in the Piešťany area. These include the Grape open-air festival, the Lodenica folk and country festival, the Cinematik film festival and the Lidožúr summer jamboree. Also famous is the Piešťany Golden Ribbons, a vintage car show and ride.

    Two bowling lanes are available for guests at the nearby Zacher guesthouse. They are open to the public from 10:00 to 23:00 h. More info here.
